We raised enough money to cover our tech support fee for the new computer server install. What a great night of music and positive vibes! 90.3 The Rockis proud to be a promotional partner with the first-ever moogfest!Moogfest - the annual event honoring the remarkable vision of Robert Moog and his amazing musical inventions that changed the course of music - is reinventing itself. This year, moogfest 2010 will move from New York City to Asheville, NC - the place Bob Moog called home for the last 30 years of his life and will expand to a 3-day, multi-venue event during the weekend of October 29 -31, 2010. During the festival, moogfest 2010 will host artists and audiences from throughout the world in different venues throughout Asheville’s beautiful, historic downtown. The line-up of artists performing at moogfest reads like WUTK’s play list.Take a look at this!

and The Rock’s Fire on the Mountain jam band show present Free Jam with Free J,
an open mic jam session for local bands and musicians Wednesday nights at 8 at
Southbound.No cover for those 21 and over. $5 each for 18-20 year olds. Musicians are encouraged to bring their own instruments, but a drum kit is provided.
Counter Culture,
featuring open decks for area electronic deejays Thursday nights at 9 at 90
Proof is also free for those 21 and over, and $5 cover for 18-20 year olds.
Performing
live at 90 Proof this Thursday, August 12th is Galdytron, Fresh Hats
Tight Beats, Dialectic Sines, Alex Falk, and Meatball Madness.This is an 18 and over show with $7 admission.
And this Friday, August 13th is a
Fundraiver at 90 Proof with Fast Nasty, electric Arc, and Magma Blood.Proceeds benefit the Gulf Coast Relief Fund. Free show, but donation recommended, please!

90.3 The Rock and our Thursday night electronic music show “The Midnight Voyage” present Ghostland Observatory live at the Valarium Friday, September 17th. Doors open at 8p.m. And a link to purchase tickets can be found at www.thevalarium.com.
Ghostland Observatory is composed of front man Aaron Behrens and drummer/composer Thomas Turner. Their blend of electronics, drums, guitars, and vocals will hit the Valarium stage! Tunes from Ghostland Observatory can be heard on 90.3 The Rock, including the song “Dancing On My Grave.”

90.3 The Rock and our Tuesday night jam-band show “Fire On the Mountain” proudly present AN EVENING WITH DARK STAR ORCHESTRA live at the Valarium Thursday, September 9th. Doors open at 8p.m. and tickets are now available at www.thevalarium.com.
DARK STAR ORCHESTRA’S shows are built around the extensive catalogue of the Grateful Dead. The band plays a series of songs performed throughout the Dead’s thirty-year career the same way a composer would interpret the music of classical composers.

Led by lead singer Ben Bridwell, Seattle's Band of Horses is touring to support the release of their latest album Infinite Arms. The band blends country roots sounds with indie rock. Songs from the new album can be heard on The Rock, including the single "Laredo."
