Congratulations to Alison Higginbotham! Winner of 90.3 The Rock's "Bonnaroo or Bust" Sweepstakes!
On May 28, 2013 the back patio at Central Flats and Taps was filled with 90.3 The Rock fans all hoping to be the grand prize winner in WUTK’s Bonnaroo or Bust campaign. 43 final qualifiers showed up to take part in the reverse drawing.
Sadly, there would be only one grand prize winner, but to ease the pain of the qualifiers that did not win each person left with a sweet prize provided by one of WUTK’s sponsors. WUTK’s Bonnaroo or Bust sponsor Rik’s Music and Sound proudly donated gift certificates to their newly opened Whammy Bar that features gourmet coffee and food. Fellow Bonnaroo or Bust sponsor, Central Flats and Taps, filled the bellies of the qualifiers with their amazing pizza and also donated gift certificates to the runner up folks. . Eagle Distributing of Knoxville graciously donated Bud swag that included an Ipod tower, mp3 cooler, corn hole set, and more. Finalist that did not win the grand prize also walked away with donations from WUTK’s sponsors Fizz, Bliss, Hard Rock Café Gatlinburg, Hard Knox Roller Girls, The Smokies, and more.
The reverse drawing quickly dwindled down to two qualifiers, Allison Higginbotham’s fill-in and sister, Kristen Higginbotham and Maggie Sharbrot. Both of these lovely ladies had been to Bonnaroo before and were dying to go back. WUTK’s General Manager, Benny Smith, toyed with the two girls for a moment allowing the suspense to build. When the final name was drawn Maggie Sharbot walked away with a pair of passes to the sold out Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeroes show at the Bijou Theatre this June AND a dinner to the Bistro at the Bijou that night!
Allison Higginbotham’s name was the last uncalled name and her sister Kristen Higginbotham ecstatically claimed the grand prize, two passes to Bonnaroo 2013 and Guest camping right behind the stage in her honor .
WUTK would like to thank all 43 qualifiers that showed up to the Bonnaroo or Bust Reverse Drawing, the sponsors that helped eases the pain of the 42 participants that did not win the grand prize, and all the fine folks that continue to support WUTK!
