WUTK is celebrating Joey Ramone's Birthday!

Tune in this Sunday, May 20th for a very special radio documentary celebrating the life and music of the late JOEY RAMONE, the lead singer of the legendary punk band The Ramones. 


Joey Ramone would have turned sixty-one years old Saturday, May 19th, so WUTK, Knoxville’s source for Ramones music for 30 years will celebrate by featuring this one-hour documentary beginning at 8 o’clock this Sunday morning.  The special celebrates the life and music of Joey Ramone, and how his friends and family finished his unreleased songs to create the new album, Ya Know?, which features the song “What Did I Do To deserve You” as heard on The Rock.

The Joey Ramone documentary features Songs from the new album plus other classics, as well as interviews with many of Ramone’s closest family, friends and collaborators.

Joey Ramone – Ya Know? Will be in stores May 22 from BMG.  The tracks were finished by producers Ed Stasium and Joey’s brother, Mickey Leigh, backed by a cast of usual suspects – Little Steven, Richie Ramone, Joan Jett, members of the Dictators, Plasmatics, Smithereens, Cheap Trick and more.
