Jason Isbell won a Grammy award for Best American Roots Song “24 Frames” as well as a Grammy for Best Americana Album “Something More Than Free” during the 58th Grammy Awards.

Mountain States Health Alliance and East Tennessee State University announced that Grammy Award Winning artist Jason Isbell will perform at Thomas Baseball Stadium on the ETSU campus in Johnson City, Tennessee.  Sat. June 25.  Known for his Americana hits and award winning songs like “24 Frames”.

“We’re excited to support Niswonger Children’s Hospital in this way,” said Dr. Brian Noland, president of ETSU. “Using Thomas Stadium for community events is something we have wanted to do for a while, and this is a great cause to kick off the first concert at our new stadium.”

“ETSU is an integral partner for us, and we’re so thankful to collaborate with them on this event,” said Lisa Carter, CEO of Niswonger Children’s Hospital. “Jason Isbell is a terrific artist with a great fan base in this area, so we believe the concert is going to be a great success for both Niswonger Children’s Hospital and ETSU.”

Known for his Americana hits and award-winning music, like “24 Frames,” Isbell took home two Grammys in February for Best American Roots Song and Best Americana Album. He was also recently featured in Rolling Stone, which called his performance an “emotional knockout.”

His album, titled “Something More Than Free,” was released last July and debuted at number one on the “Top Rock Albums” chart, the “Folk Albums” chart, and the “Top Country Albums” chart by Billboard Magazine. It landed at number six on the Billboard 200.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 25.
