Here are the things to know that are taking place with the spring sports on Rocky Top for this week:

Baseball

Tennessee just concluded its fourth SEC series of the season with Florida this past weekend stealing one out of the three games against the No. 1 ranked Gators. Things are somewhat the same as last year in the Tennessee program under first-year head coach Tony Vitello, but it seems as if the Vols are starting to trend somewhat upward. Tennessee will host the Skyhawks of UT-Martin this week for a two-game series at Lindsey-Nelson Stadium.

It makes as a nice break from SEC play before heading to Baton Rouge to face the LSU Tigers next weekend. First pitch for Tuesday’s game is set for 6:30 pm and game two is on Wednesday, first pitch at 4:00 pm. You can watch Tuesday’s game on SEC Network +, on the WatchESPN app. Wednesday’s game can be seen on the SEC Network, and both games can be caught on the VolNetwork 15 minutes before first pitch, with play-by-play John Wilkerson and Vince Ferrara.

Rowing

The University of Tennessee’s Rowing Team had a nice weekend in Kansas City taking eight of ten races. The team will be back on the road next weekend as they travel to Clemson, South Carolina for the Clemson Invitational from April 14-15.

Spring Soccer

For all the soccer fans out there, the women’s soccer team is in the middle of their spring schedule. The schedule consists of five games, three at home and two on the road. The team will see action for the first time since March 25 with two games this week at Regal Soccer Stadium. Game one is set for Tuesday with a 7:30 pm start time and game two is set for Wednesday at 4:00 pm.

Spring Football

There’s not much to preview this week as the Vols enters week four of Jeremy Pruitt’s first spring practice as Tennessee’s head coach. The team held its first major scrimmage over the weekend inside Neyland Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:00 pm.

Softball

Softball finished another SEC series with Auburn over the weekend winning one out of three on the road. The Lady Vols are suffering from the grind of the toughest conference in softball and are riding in the middle of the pack. Like baseball, they too have non-conference games during the week. The team will travel to Columbia, Tenn. for a matchup with in-state foe Memphis.  First pitch is at 7:00 pm and you can listen to the game on AM 990 with Voice of the Lady Vols, Brian Rice.

Men’s and Women’s Golf

The men’s golf team has its final tournament of the season next weekend as it travels to New Haven, Connecticut for the Yale Invitational. The SEC Tournament for the men starts on Wednesday, April 25 and runs through Sunday, April 29. The women played in their final tournament over the weekend in Greensboro, North Carolina. The women’s tournament will start a week from this Wednesday on April 18 and goes through Sunday, April 22.

Men’s and Women’s Tennis

Both the men’s and women’s team’s seasons are ending over this next week. The men will host Kentucky Friday, April 13 at 6:00 pm and Vanderbilt Sunday, April 15 at 1:00 pm at the Goodfriend Tennis Center. The women will host Missouri Thursday, April 12 at 6:00 pm and Arkansas Saturday, April 14 at 12:00 pm at Barksdale Stadium. From there, the men will head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the SEC Tournament, Wednesday, April 25 and runs through Sunday, April 29 and the women will stay in Knoxville as they host the SEC Women’s Tournament at Barksdale Stadium from Wednesday, April 18 to Sunday, April 22.

Track and Cross Country

Tennessee’s track and field squad come back to Knoxville after spending last weekend out in Palo Alto, California. The group saw improvement from everyone and they will host the Tennessee Relays from April 12-14 on Tom Black Track inside LaPorte Stadium. No start times for these relays are currently listed and admission to the public is free.

It will be a busy week on Rocky Top and we hope you all come out and support the Volunteers!
