After all the rumors of Zlatan Ibrahimović signing to a team in the MLS, he has finally signed with the LA Galaxy.
This is good not only for the Galaxy’s Franchise, but also for soccer in Los Angels as a whole. When he played at PSG, he developed a following over in the U.S.
Once the rumors of him coming to the MLS circulated, the fans were ecstatic.
This will draw in hundreds more in ticket sales, jersey sales, attendance, etc.
Not only is it a profit gain, the team will benefit from having a veteran who has played with some of the best in the entire sport of soccer.
When Ibrahimović was with Manchester United, he played with the likes of Paul Pogba, Wayne Rooney and many other stars.
If he can compete at that level, then the MLS will be no challenge for him. The MLS is not a sub-par league, but soccer in the Premier League is a whole other world compared to the MLS.
Ibrahimović was interview by The Guardian about what he wants to accomplish in the MLS and with the LA Galaxy.
Ibrahimović said, “After being in Europe, winning 33 trophies, playing in the best teams in the world, playing with the best players in the world, I wanted to come to the US and play my game there. I wanted people to enjoy my game there and to win. And I chose the Galaxy to do that.”
He should have this impact on the Galaxy, the MLS and soccer culture as a whole in Los Angels.
