Three Lady Vols basketball signees take part in 2018 McDonald’s Girls All-American game at Phillips Arena in Atlanta on Wednesday night.
It’s not uncommon for the Lady Vols to have multiple signees take place in the McDonald’s All-Amercian game and this year the program was represented by Zay Green, Amira Collins and Jazmine Massengill.
Green who had six points to lead all Tennessee signees played 17 minutes and helped lead the West Team to an 82-79 win over the East Team.
Green is a 6-0 guard from Duncanville, Texas got the start for the West Team. In addition to her six points on 3-of-8 shooting, Green also totaled four steals, three assists and one rebound in her 17 minutes of action.
Massengill who is a 6-0 point guard from Chattanooga, Tenn. came off the bench for the East and recorded four points on 2-of-5 shooting in 17 minutes of action.
She also recorded two blocks, one rebound, and one assist during the game.
Collins a 6-3 forward from Waldorf, Md. also came off the bench for the East Team. Going 1-for-3 from the field and made one free throw for a total of three points in 13 minutes.
Collins also had three rebound and one steal.
Green finished in a tie for fifth on the West in points scored and lead her team in steals.
The trio of future Lady Vols will play one more game against each other as they are all scheduled to take part in the Jordan Brand Classic on April 8, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. before teaming up at Tennessee in the fall.
