KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– The Tennessee Lady Vols (6-5) are back in action on Wednesday night for one more game in Thompson-Boling Arena before leaving Knoxville to take on Stanford on the road.
After losing center Tamari Key after the senior was diagnosed with blood clots in her lungs, players such as Karoline Striplin have already shown that they are able to step up in her position. However, Key will still be cheering the team on along their side.
This match-up between the UCF Golden Knights (6-2) will be a true test of how the team fares without Key on the court against a team that is very comparable in record. Rickea Jackson is back for the Lady Vols after being out indefinitely due to a coach’s decision, and her presence on the court against the Golden Knights and games moving forward could change everything.
As long as key players such as Jordan Horston, Jillian Hollingshead, and others stay healthy during this pivotal point in the season before conference play, the Lady Vols could come out with something to prove.
Wednesday night’s match-up is set for 6:30 p.m. EST and will air on SECN+.
