KNOXVILLE, Tenn- One Knoxville SC (1-1-1) is set to host South Georgia Tormenta FC (2-3-0) at Regal Soccer Stadium, with kickoff for the match set for 6 p.m. EST. This will be Knoxville’s fourth game in the USL1.
On Wednesday, One Knox finished the match at an even 1-1 draw with the Central Valley Fuego FC. After a relatively slow start to the game, in the 13th minute, an arid throw-in by Central Valley found the foot of Jake Keegan who struck one in from the top of the penalty box putting Knoxville up by one.
In the 58th minute of the second half, Central Valley found its way back into the match when a penalty was rewarded after a foul by Angelo Kelly-Rosales. Othoniel Arce was the Fuego’s penalty taker and after a slow run up he was able to sneak it by Knoxville goalie Sean Lewis.
The South Georgia Tormenta FC have had a rocky start to the season, despite being ranked third in the conference. They are coming off a 2-1 loss versus Lexington SC and they are 1-2 in their last three games.
One Knox is looking to improve upon their completely even record and jump in the USL1 standings. With the season still in its early stages, One Knox is currently just one point outside of the top-5 and two points from being in the top-3.
This matchup will be a good opportunity for One Knox to get another win under their belt and take a jump in the standings before they hit the road to Fresno, California. Where they will face off against the Central Valley Fuego SC for their second meeting of the season on April 30th.
