Tennessee traveled to Mississippi over the weekend to compete in the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational hosted by Southern Mississippi.
The No. 19-ranked Volunteers claimed another top-10 finish this week to close out the fall schedule. The performance was the seniors Lance Simpson and Josh Hill, who led the team to a 14-under par finish and solo sixth place.
Simpson, ranked 10th in the PGA Tour U standings, was the low scorer for the Volunteers at 6-under par for the tournament. He had an impressive bogey-free final round of 67, locked in a tie for ninth place.
Hill also surged late in the tournament with a final round of 69 to finish 4-under par. Hill closed the back nine on Monday with a 33, including two birdies and one eagle. Hill finished the tournament tied for 13th place.
Birmingham, Alabama, native and Volunteer freshman Chase Kyes was in action as an individual for the tournament. Kyes would collect his highest finish of the season at 23rd place, coming in 2-under par.

After dominating the first two rounds, the LSU Tigers would be matched with a hot final round by the Alabama Crimson Tide, which tied it up at 32-under par. The Crimson Tide had an impressive 16-under-par run in the final round, with the whole team finishing under par.

This was the last action the Volunteers will see this fall, which was highlighted by four top 10 finishes and one win at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate.
Tennessee’s spring season kicks off Feb. 9 in Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico Classic at Grand Reserve Golf Club.
