Tennessee softball players Maddi Rutan (21), Gabby Leach (55), and Ella Dodge (25) celebrate a win over ETSU inside Sherri Parker Lee Stadium | Tuesday, April 7, 2026 | Tennessee Athletics

Lady Vol softball destroyed ETSU on Tuesday night at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium by a score of 12-0.

It was an overall great performance for the Lady Vols as both sides of the softball were very balanced, but the offense stole the show.

Offense has been a bit of a struggle lately for the Lady Vols as they have averaged only two runs in their last six games.

That was not the case tonight.

The Lady Vols plated twelve runs on twelve hits while only one Lady Vol struck out in the game.

Though everyone who stepped up to the plate for the Lady Vols made an impact, one Lady Vol stood out.

Sophomore Emma Clarke had arguably her best game of the season with three hits, two being home runs, along with three RBI’s.

“We’ve said since Emma got here that when Emma lets loose and swings all out, good things happen,” said head coach Karen Weekly after the game.

Good things definitely have been happening with Clarke as of late, as she has now recorded five hits in her last four games.

The other star of the night for the Lady Vols was pitcher Sage Mardjetko.

Mardjetko got the start in the circle for the Lady Vols for the third time in the last four games.

Although Mardjetko has been a workhorse as of late, that has had no effect on her play.

She recorded thirteen strikeouts while only allowing one hit and walking only two batters on the night.

Mardjetko was dealing with an injury earlier in the season, which held her back from her full potential, but now the true Mardjetko is starting to show.

“She has about five pitches that are all elite, and that’s pretty rare,” said Weekly.

It was an overall dominant night for the Lady Vols, and with this win tonight, their record moves to 33-6 on the season.

The Lady Vols will now set their sights on Wednesday night as they are set to take on Kennesaw State in another midweek showdown back at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium, with first pitch slated for 6:00 PM ET.
