KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Lady Vols Volleyball team (6-3) will play host at Thompson-Boling Arena to No. 21 Western Kentucky (9-1) Tuesday night. The game is set to get underway at 6 P.M. EST.
The Lady Vols are coming off wins at the Rocky Top Classic where they didn’t drop a single set in three matches. They have now swept their opponents in four consecutive matches.
Earlier this week, Morgahn Fingall and Natalie Hayward picked up SEC Player of the Week and SEC Setter of the Week honors, respectively, after their dominant performance over the weekend.
Fingall was able to secure 17 kills in her previous matchup against the Citadel and was red hot all weekend racking up 47 total kills through nine sets of action. The senior continues her streak of dominance for the Lady Vols and remains a key fixture in an aggressive Lady Vols offense.
Western Kentucky comes into this matchup on fire, having won six in a row since dropping their only match of the season to 4th ranked Louisville. The Hilltoppers have won 27 sets this season and only dropped 4. Paige Briggs will be their player to watch for as she leads the team in kills with 126.
This marks Tennessee’s final week of non conference play as the team finishes out the rest of the week with matchups against No. 5 Ohio State and No. 12 Pitt in Pittsburgh.
The Lady Vols will also be supporting the Lace-Up 4 Pediatric Cancer Awareness cause in tonight’s matchup.
