KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Lady Vols (3-3) return back home to face New Hampshire (5-3) to kick off the Rocky Top Classic Friday night. The match is set for 6:30 P.M. EST at Thompson Boling Arena.
Tennessee is coming off a 2-1 weekend at the NC State Classic. It was a good bounce back weekend for the Lady Vols who struggled through the first few matches with losses to both Purdue and Bowling Green.
Led by Morgahn Fingall, who enters tonight’s matchup leading the Lady Vols in kills with 4.08 per set, the Tennessee is looking to put a few wins together heading into a tough stretch of games.
After losing twice in the last tournament hosted in Knoxville, it would be good to see the Lady Vols have a more dominant performance this weekend.
New Hampshire enters the matchup against the Lady Vols after losing three straight in the Villanova classic, but bounced back to get a win against Holy Cross in their last outing. Millie Grove led the way in their last game with 10 kills, stepping in for kill leader Hannah Serbousek, who did not play.
The match against New Hampshire will be the first of three for the Lady Vols during the Rocky Top classic with games against Norfolk State and The Citadel on Saturday.
