KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The 11th-ranked Lady Vols (1-1) take on the 12th-ranked Hoosiers (2-0) in Knoxville, their second top-25 matchup of the season after Ohio State in the season opener.

During the match against No. 14 Ohio State, Tennessee led comfortably the entire first half before falling short during the second and allowing the Buckeyes to take the lead and eventually win after 29 total turnovers from the Lady Vols.

This game was in Columbus, but this time Tennessee will be playing in Thompson-Boling Arena with a home-court advantage.

Senior guard Jordan Horston is still listed as day-to-day after she suffered a lower leg injury during last week’s game against UMass. Her playing status for tonight will be a key factor in the Lady Vols’ performance against the Hoosiers. However, seniors Tamari Key and Rickea Jackson stepped up after her injury on Thursday and will be expected to do the same tonight for the Lady Vols to secure an important win.

For the Hoosiers, senior forward Mackenzie Holmes is certainly a key shooter for the Lady Vols to watch out for. Scoring 33 combined points so far in Indiana’s first games against Vermont and UMass Lowell, George’s shot percentage from the field is nothing short of an average 82.4% thus far in the 2022-23 season.

Indiana’s major weakness might be that Tennessee is their first ranked matchup, after coasting through their first two games against unranked rivals. However, Tennessee will surely need to limit turnovers in order to perform successfully against Indiana.

The game is set for 6 p.m. Monday night in Knoxville and will air on ESPN 2.
