Leading a batch of still-active ’90s rock bands is Everclear, who have no intention of slowing down – especially for fans heading to see the group perform at The Shed in Maryville on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
“We’re excited to be coming to Maryville,” Everclear frontman Art Alexakis said. “I love that part of the country.”
Founded in 1992 by Alexakis, the iconic group, known for hits like “Santa Monica” and “Father of Mine,” will soon celebrate, or have already celebrated in recent years, the 30-year anniversaries of a couple of the albums that gave them their start. Because of this, Maryville fans can expect an evening of nostalgia and deep tracks.
“You’re gonna get the old school, all the hits and fan favorites,” Alexakis said. “If people want to go on social media and request songs, if we know them, we’ll play them. We do about 19 songs.”
Everclear’s 1992 release World of Noise was treated to a remastered, deluxe edition in 2022, and their 1995 major-label debut Sparkle and Fade will see a similar treatment, along with an accompanying tour that will kick off in September.
The Sparkle and Fade 30th Anniversary Tour will feature guests Local H and Sponge. Alexakis said, “It’s gonna be a big tour. Vans and buses… gone for two months playing shows… touring around the country. It’s a big year.”
